Thanksgiving 2023

Primetime585 Thanksgiving Adopt a Family; History- this is year 4 of our Adopt a Family. We’ve fed 9,870 people including 2,655 children over the last three thanksgiving. We’ve partnered with schools, social workers and agencies to provide a healthy thanksgiving meal each year. The uniqueness of this program is the matching of families. We will match a family who wants to be adopted to a team, program and family who will shop and deliver a full Thanksgiving meal. The goal is positive interaction between students, athletes and families. Last year, 86 Section 5 teams adopted families and 71 delivered it to their adopted families. This teaches our kids the importance of giving back. We prefer the process of adopting and delivering but if a person or team is unable we will do the shopping and delivering for you. We ask that you utilize the list posted as a shopping guide. You can donate $75 per family of 4 for a complete meal including desserts and drinks.

The Primetime585 Holiday Coat & Toy Drive We’ve teamed up with Golisano children’s hospital sickle cell unit to provide coats and toys for children with sickle cell. This painful and debilitating disease affects children who some needs weekly blood transfusions. We’ve provided over 1300 pieces of toys and 430 coats to the SICKLE CELL patients. We also adopt 6 city schools, 2 rural schools and 3 homeless centers which house kids to provide coats and toys. If you are interested in purchasing a toy or coat we suggest a donation of $45 for a coat and a toy. All toys are wrapped by student athletes throughout section v. Dates: December 1-18, 2023
